Automobili Pininfarina is ushering in a new era of electric luxury with their latest design concept, the PURA Vision. This pioneering design study embodies the company's PURA design philosophy, showcasing an elegant silhouette, dramatic proportions, and clean surfaces. It envisions a stunning electric Luxury Utility Vehicle (e-LUV), poised to inspire the next generation of Automobili Pininfarina's pure electric luxury vehicles.
The PURA Vision design concept will be unveiled to the public during Monterey Car Week in August, alongside the recently-revealed Battista Edizione Nino Farina hyper GT and another production vehicle with a distinct proposition, introducing a new genre of driving pleasure.
Drawing from its 94-year heritage, Automobili Pininfarina fuses timeless design elements with modern aesthetics. The design takes inspiration from the iconic 1947 Cisitalia, the first vehicle to enter the Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA) collection in New York, presenting a unique sculptural statement with its low hood and high fenders.
The exterior features an impressive face with hidden headlights and ultra-slim L.E.S.S. nanofibre lighting technology, creating a distinctive daytime running light signature. The choice of materials and color finishes, such as Bianco Sestriere Gloss body with exposed carbon fiber elements, highlights its athletic presence. Notable features include its narrow glasshouse, gloss black floating roof, and striking 23-inch alloy wheels with white stripe tires.
Inside, the PURA Vision offers a blend of SUV road presence and sports car character. The luxurious cabin provides a light and airy feel with a flat floor, courtesy of the electric powertrain. The driving position resembles a two-seater, but the cabin boasts ample space with an expansive interior, enhanced by the panoramic glass roof.
Inspired by luxury sailing yachts, the interior design features 'floating' front seats suspended like a sail's foil, while the center console resembles a sail's boom. Advanced technologies enhance the driving experience, including an intuitive central touchscreen, digital instrumentation, and a head-up display. Each of the four individual seats showcases a crisp white finish, while the combination of soft semi-aniline leather and signature textile fabric offers a sophisticated and sustainable touch.
The PURA Vision design concept is a testament to Automobili Pininfarina's dedication to sustainable innovation and the use of high-quality materials. The vehicle has been crafted by the company's in-house family of engineering and manufacturing experts in Italy, utilizing their decades of experience.
