VEMAC, established to produce sports cars for the Japanese market, was established in September 1998 at the initiative of the Japanese Tokyo R&D company. The first 2 prototypes of the RD 180 model with a targa body were constructed in 2002. The RD 320 and RD 350R are racing versions. The RD 200 (a 2.0-liter 220 hp plant) and the RD 350 (a 3.4-liter 500 hp V8 unit) debuted at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show.
