The designer reactivated on the 1st of January 2000 the Spyker Automobielen company, which presented at the Birmingham 2000 Motor Show a new roadster called C8 Spyder. The car was equipped with an Audi 4.2-liter 400 hp V8 power plant and went into production in 2002. At the Motor Show in Amsterdam in 2001, the public saw the debut of a C8 Laviolette coupe, equipped with an Audi 4.2-liter 450 hp engine and in Frankfurt 2001 – a C8 Double 12R coupe. At the Birmingham 2002 Motor Show, Spyker showed a street version called C8 Double 12S, powered by Audi 4.0-liter, and in Frankfurt 2003 – a C8 Spyder T version with an Audi-Cosworth Biturbo 4.2-liter 525 hp engine. In December 2004 a new roadster C12 LaTurbie furnished with an Audi 6.0-liter 500 hp W12 plant was unveiled. In the plans was the D12 Paris-to-Peking ultra luxury SUV, however it never made into production. At Geneva Motorshow 2007 Spykereven presented one-off prototype C12 designed by Zagato. Some of the newest models include C8 Preliator, C8 Preliator Spyder. Overall Spyker bankruptcy saga is worth a book, however, the latest news tell us that the Spyker brand might be revived again.
