Aldo Sessano established Open Design in 1977. The main client was Mitsubishi for whom the company designed the second-generation Lancer (1979) as well as Galant (1980) and other models. Open Design also created several concept cars including Ipothesi (1982), Starwind (1982), and Clip (1984). Sessano closed Open Design in 1998 to establish the new company Master Design International.
