In January 1988, Toyota founded a completely new, luxury make – the Lexus. In January 1989, the first model – the LS 400 was shown, which went into production in July 1989. Unlike the Acura (Honda) and the Infiniti (Nissan), Lexus vehicles are sold all over the world, yet produced in Japan and, since 2003, in Canada.
