Exemplar

United States

The 1967 Exemplar I was commissioned by The Bridgeport Brass Company and Copper Development Association. It was designed by Mario Revelli de Beaumont and built in Italy by Carrozziera Coggiola.

The purpose of Exemplar 1 was to present to the automotive world with engineering innovations for greater safety, comfort, performance and design, and to demonstrate new decorative applications for copper and bronze.  In both 1968 and 1969 Exemplar 1 was shown at the New York Auto Show where it gained huge attention for both its radical use of copper, brass and bronze throughout the car.

The Exemplar 2 was made in 1972. It was again designed by Mario Revelli but built by Carrozzeria Eurostyle in Turin, Italy. It used Oldsmobile Toronado 455 cu.in engine.
