Advanced Automotive Technologies of Rochester Hills, MI, was founded by its owner Steve Pasteiner in 1988. A graduate of Art Center College of Design, Steve spent 22 years with General Motors Design staff, eventually becoming the Assistant Chief Designer for Buick 2 studios and later Chevrolet 1, before leaving to establish Advanced Automotive Technologies. He also designed the Buick Blackhawk show car presented in 2000.

AAT worked with such companies as Briggs & Stratton, Ford Motor Company, and Pontiac Motor Division. Pasteiner's company made custom Corvettes in small numbers as well as one-off cars. The lineup included Commemorative Edition Wagon paying a tribute to the 1954 Corvette Nomad station wagon and 1953/2003 Commemorative Edition roadster.

The vehicle was based on a customer-provided Chevrolet Corvette C5 convertible but could also be converted using a Corvette Hardtop (not hatchback). All new body panels were installed using the same attachment locations as production panels. There were no structural modifications. All safety-related items remained intact. The ATT company made no less than 150 of these cars.

An interesting one-of-a-kind model was the Heldo made in ~2001. It was a concept of a performance road car. Built around a 350 horsepower, 32V Cadillac Northstar engine, steel tube space frame, and composite bodywork. The Heldo reached 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds, the quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds, and pulled over 1g on the skidpad, all while remaining a very civilized car to drive.

In 2015 AAT made a concept off-roader named SSUV for Unique Fabricating Inc., and LINE-X. The vehicle debuted at the SEMA show.

Currently, the AAT company seems to be inactive. It disappeared in ~2019/2020.
